Kenyon College Local Programming Contest

November 5, 2016 Contest

We will be using the Kattis web site to manage our contest. Because this is not an official contest we will need to use the site in a difference way.

Go here to register on the Kattis site if you are not already registered. If you are registered, please login on the site.

The Link below will take you to a list of links to problems on the Kattis site. You will to try to solve as many of these as possible, as soon as possible. You can use Netbeans (or another development platform of your choice) on the lab computers to develop and test a solution. Then submit it to Kattis for checking and acceptance. If it is accepted, email the solution, along with screenshot of the acceptance screen to Professor Skon at skonjp@kenyon.edu. The teams will be ranked by the following criteria:

Each correct submission will get a score in two halves

  • The first half is the 300 points.
  • The second half is the total number of minutes in the competition (300) minus the number of minutes it took you to complete the problem.
  • I.e., if it took 2 hours to complete a problem, the formula for its score is:
    300 + (300-120) = 480 points.
So the total score will be the sum of the scores for the team (or person).

Contest Problem List

The above link will not work until the contest opens at 10:00am November 5, 2016.
